Once again this year, Québec will have an opportunity to celebrate its dynamic mining sector during the 25th edition of Mining Week, which will take place in Québec from April 24 to 30. The theme for 2016 is: Discover the strength of a community.

The provincial launch of Mining Week took place at the Beaufor Mine on April 25, in the presence of Minister Luc Blanchette. Nearly 50 activities will be organized in every region of Québec, turning the spotlight on the dynamics, diversity and wealth of the province’s mining sector. Events will include tours of mines, foundries and educational institutions, as well as exhibitions, conferences and open days.

The Ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources naturelles is involved in two activities in particular:

Social media users were also invited to take the quiz entitled Minerals in your life, devised especially for Mining Week and posted on the Québec Mines Facebook page.

The 2016 edition of Québec Mining Week is an initiative of the Québec Mining Association (QMA). For further information on the activities available in your region, see the QMA website (French only).

Have a great week!
