Consultation on the 2013-2014 geoscience knowledge acquisition and mineral potential assessment projects in Québec

Patrice Roy and Charles Maurice, MRN

The Bureau de l’exploration géologique du Québec (BEGQ) is currently engaged in a consultation process concerning geoscience knowledge acquisition and mineral potential assessment projects that could be carried out 2013. A questionnaire (Word Format, 2,5  Mb) was recently sent by email to find out the opinions of representatives from the mineral exploration industry and regional stakeholders. If you have not already done so, you may still fill out your questionnaire, which should take about 20 minutes, and return it by email to before November 30, 2012.

To better focus your ideas, six provincial-scale maps can be found in the “Appendix” file (PDF Format , 3 Mb) (in French):

An interactive session on the future of geoscience data acquisition in Québec will be held during the Québec Mines 2012 convention on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. It will provide an excellent opportunity to share your point of view and ideas about the different types of surveys and projects to be launched in the coming years.

A large number of replies to the questionnaire and a good turnout at the workshop will help us define the needs of our clientele and guide future geoscience knowledge acquisition and data processing efforts across the province.
