Québec Exploration 2007:
The Right Place to Explore!

The fifth annual Québec Exploration event, which will be held from November 26 to 29, 2007, at the Château Frontenac in Québec, will undoubtedly be one of the most impressive geological and mining events in Canada in recent years. The organizing committee, always striving to stay at the leading edge of geological and mining information, has put together a fascinating program.

Internationally known speakers

Under the honorary chairmanship of Mr. Ian Pearce, Chief Executive Officer of Xstrata Nickel, Québec Exploration 2007 will be offering a program of high quality technical sessions with internationally known specialists, including Jim Franklin, Langhorne Smith, Michel Gauthier and C.F. Jefferson. Topics will include:

copper exploration in Abitibi, the birth of new mining camps in the Baie-James territory;
promising discoveries;
uranium’s “gamma effect” on exploration;
the emergence of a new oil and gas exploration region in Québec.

Lets talk finance and investment

The financial side of mineral exploration will be thoroughly explored during a special session on mining investment. Specialists Paul Van Eeden, Chad Williams, David and Eric Coffin will give their opinions about the state of investments in exploration and answer your questions. In addition, as part of the Exploration/Investment Forum, exploration and service companies will inform you about their activities and new discoveries in promotional presentations.

A first look at results

Québec Exploration is where the results of work by geologists of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (MRNF), the Geological Survey of Canada and other research institutions are presented. These results will be communicated in the form of technical sessions and posters. This is also a unique opportunity to get inside information about the most recent discoveries by MRNF geologists.

This year, for the first time, considering the huge amount of geological information to be presented, posters will be exhibited on a rotating basis. New posters will therefore be on display every day.

Come improve your knowledge base

Québec Exploration 2007 also offers workshops and interactive sessions on current scientific, environmental and financial topics, such as volcanogenic massive sulphides (Jim Franklin) or “The Mining Environment: from Exploration to Mining”.

Something new again this year

Québec Exploration is innovating by organizing a half-day open house. The goal of this initiative is to get the general public— especially young people, students and the academic community—interested in mining activity.

The Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune and the Québec Mineral Exploration Association are inviting you to join 150 exhibitors, 60 speakers and 1 500 delegates at Québec Exploration 2007.
